If the bus drivers’ strike goes ahead, it will significantly affect bus services from 1 March to 10 March 2023. The Finnish Transport Workers’ Union AKT has issued a notice of a strike by bus drivers. If negotiations fail and an agreement cannot be reached, the strike will begin on Wednesday 1 March at 03:00 AM and end on Friday 10 March at 03:00 AM.
The strike will significantly affect bus services in Kirkkonummi
In Kirkkonummi, the strike includes all bus services ordered by HSL except the demand-responsive services 918/919. The strike includes the services 171, 172, 173, 175, 181, 182, 243, 901, 902, 903, 904, 906, 907, 908, 909 and 911.
The situation of the U line services is still somewhat uncertain, but according to current information (27 February), 192 from the side of the Länsiväylä road and 280 from Veikkola to Helsinki will run. Check the timetables of the U line on the Matkahuolto website or the websites of the U line operators.
Pupils and students who are dependent on bus services should prepare in advance for the potential strike by taking home the necessary school books. The schools and the upper secondary schools give their pupils and students and their guardians more detailed instructions via Wilma.
Strike notice for the rail traffic, too
Metro, tram and commuter trains will run as usually when the potential strike starts on 1 March. However, the Railway Union of Finland has also issued a strike notice. If negotiations fail and an agreement cannot be reached, a rail service strike will begin on Monday 6 March at 12:01 AM and end on Friday 10 March at 11:59 PM.
